Advancing Research and Development of DeliSci Therapeutic Diets for Pets
VetSynova Co., Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, to collaborate on the research and development of veterinary innovations and therapeutic diets for pets under the DeliSci brand.
The name “DeliSci” combines “Delicious” and “Science,” reflecting the brand concept: “When Delicious & Science Meet in Perfect Harmony.”
The first product developed under this collaboration is DeliSci Excella, a complete and balanced therapeutic diet designed to provide nutritional support for sick, malnourished and recovering pets, including animals requiring high-quality energy and nutrients during postoperative recovery.

DeliSci Excella carries the concept “Excellent for Recovery.” It is a high-energy wet pet food delivering more than 1,236.8 kcal/kg. The formula is made with ingredients of the same quality standard as those used for human consumption and contains no animal by-products, contributing to a protein digestibility rate of up to 99.5%.
The formula provides complete nutrition with high levels of protein and fat while remaining low in carbohydrates. It is designed to support pets during illness and recovery, including nutritional management in cases where refeeding syndrome may be a concern.
DeliSci Excella also contains innovative, Thai-patented functional ingredients that have received recognition at international competitions. Its smooth, fine mousse texture makes it easy to administer through a syringe or feeding tube, while its pleasant aroma and high palatability help encourage food intake in pets with reduced appetite.
Dr. Manaithorn Seriputra, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of VetSynova Co., Ltd., said:
“VetSynova places pet health at the heart of everything we do, and nutrition is one of the most important foundations of good health. Sick animals have different and often more specific nutritional requirements. Recognizing this need, we partnered with the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, to jointly develop specialized dietary formulas.

“Only a limited number of companies in Thailand currently offer therapeutic diets for pets. Although several international brands are available, relatively few make substantial investments in research. We believe there is still considerable room for improvement, as well as opportunities to develop new formulas that address different and more specific health needs.
“Thailand is one of the world’s major food-producing countries—not only for humans, but for animals as well. We have access to high-quality ingredients, strong research teams, highly capable veterinary academics and professionals, and world-class food manufacturing facilities. With all these strengths, there is no reason why Thailand cannot develop exceptional therapeutic diets for pets.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Khongsak Thiangtum, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University at the time of the collaboration, said:
“The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, is delighted to be part of this collaboration. Today, we do not want valuable research to remain confined to academic shelves. We have the knowledge, resources, researchers, faculty members and highly skilled personnel needed to transform research into meaningful, practical outcomes.
“This collaboration represents an important step in bringing academic knowledge into real-world application and contributing to the country’s development. It also marks a significant formal partnership between the Faculty and the private sector to develop research-based products for commercial use.”

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Attawit Kovitvadhi, Director of the Center for Veterinary Research and Innovation, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, and a member of the product development team, said:
“We have begun conducting studies in both healthy animals and clinical trials. The research findings are expected to be released progressively and shared with the public.
“Throughout the development process, we listened closely to the pain points identified by veterinarians, the company and product users. These insights were incorporated into the research and development process, including the development of additional formulas designed for more specific health conditions.
“Pets may face emerging diseases and new health challenges at any time. Their needs are constantly evolving, which is why we must continue developing diets that are as specific and appropriate as possible to support the best possible health outcomes.”

Nutthachai Junngern, Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder of VetSynova Co., Ltd., said:
“We place great importance on investment in product research and development. Over the years, we have both acquired existing technologies and jointly developed new patents with leading research organizations in Thailand. A significant proportion of our revenue is continuously allocated to research, development and innovation.”

Kittichai Kumpanon, Chief Financial Officer and Co-founder of VetSynova Co., Ltd., said:
“VetSynova has a clear vision: to connect and create veterinary innovations that improve the quality of life of both pets and people.
“Our mission is to research, source and introduce outstanding products to veterinarians worldwide, ensuring that pets around the world have access to safe, effective and high-quality solutions.
“We are proud to support Thai researchers, Thai innovation and Thai-developed products as they move towards the global market. We continue to expand VetSynova’s presence internationally across the Americas, Europe and Asia while strengthening the company’s credibility and capacity to support the continued growth of the global pet industry.”

VetSynova is derived from “Veterinary Synergistic Innovation,” representing the company’s commitment to integrating veterinary expertise with innovative solutions.
The company develops and distributes a wide range of pet healthcare products, pharmaceuticals, nutritional products and supplements. In 2021, VetSynova reported approximately 1,000% growth, equivalent to ten times its sales in 2020, establishing the company as a “10X Company.” This growth continued throughout 2022 and supported the company’s ongoing investment in research and innovation.

VetSynova currently distributes products across several brands, including VFcore, MicrocynAH, Dermodacyn, Zymox, Hepaphos, Otosense, Tears, Labyderm, Pet Calm and No Bite.
One of the company’s flagship brands is VFcore, an innovative range of nutritional supplements presented in a lickable treat format. VFcore was developed to address a common pain point among cat owners: the difficulty of administering tablets, liquid medicines and conventional supplements that often require physical restraint.
By offering functional nutrition in a highly palatable and easy-to-feed format, VFcore has received a strong response from both pet owners and veterinary professionals.
Another flagship product is MicrocynAH, a hypochlorous acid-based product range designed to support the management of wounds, skin conditions and oral health in animals.

The collaboration between VetSynova and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Kasetsart University, represents an important development for Thailand’s pet food and veterinary healthcare industries.
By combining academic expertise, clinical research, high-quality local resources and private-sector capabilities, the partnership aims to transform Thai research into practical innovations that improve pet health and strengthen the potential of Thai-developed veterinary products in the global market.
